An AHC is the official document required for pets travelling from Great Britain to the EU since Brexit. It confirms your pet meets all health requirements for entry.

The AHC must be issued within 10 days of your travel date. We recommend booking as soon as you know your travel plans.
Yes, a valid rabies vaccination is required. It must have been given at least 21 days before travel.

Dogs need tapeworm treatment 1-5 days before returning to the UK. We can advise you on this during your appointment.
Yes! We offer appointments on evenings and weekends.
If you cancel more than 7 days before your appointment, you'll receive a 50% refund. Cancellations within 7 days of the appointment are non-refundable. Pet details must be completed by the deadline shown in your booking — a week before your appointment, or 48 hours after booking for last-minute bookings. If they aren't, your booking will be automatically cancelled and no refund will be issued.
Since April 2026, EU pet passports issued to GB residents are no longer valid for travel. The Animal Health Certificate (AHC) is now the only accepted document for taking your pet from the UK to the EU. Unlike the old pet passport, an AHC is required for every trip and must be issued within 10 days of travel.
Our vet arrives at your home at the booked time, checks your pet's microchip, verifies the rabies vaccination is valid and within date, and issues the official AHC document. The whole visit typically takes 20-30 minutes.
If the microchip cannot be read during the visit, we can discuss options such as having a new microchip implanted (which requires a 21-day wait before travel) or checking with the original implanting vet's records. We recommend testing your pet's microchip before the appointment if possible.
